Attacking
An attack proceeds in two steps: attack roll, then damage roll.
1. Attack Roll
d20 + Attack Stat + weapon bonus >= target’s Defense Score
| Weapon or Spell Type | Attack Stat Used |
|---|---|
| Heavy weapon / 2-handed | Strength (STR) |
| Light weapon / 1-handed | Dexterity (DEX) |
| Ranged weapon | Precision (PRE) |
| Offensive spell | Intelligence (INT) |
- Natural 20 -> critical success (unstoppable attack, damage doubled).
- Natural 1 -> critical failure (weapon jams, spell fails).
2. Damage Roll
- Roll the dice indicated on the weapon or spell.
- Determine the physical nature of the attack (mechanical, radiative, or internal).
- Subtract the corresponding resistance (RMEC, RRAD, or RINT).
- Apply the result to the target’s hit points.
- If the target is reduced to 0 HP -> they are knocked out of combat.
Correspondence Examples:
- Sword, bullet, projectile -> RMEC
- Fire, laser, lightning -> RRAD
- Life drain, necrosis, corruption -> RINT
