Arcanotechnology is primarily used in industry and defense. Crystal stabilization allowing the capture and use of the Flux remains complex, but the field has made sufficient advances to produce these energy sources at a sustained pace.

One of the Empire’s major industries is arcanoprogramming: writing programs that enable the exploitation of the Flux for precise and automated tasks. These industrial programs allow:

• Arcanotechnic metallurgy: Mass production at nearly zero energy cost
• Automated construction: Infrastructure and spacecraft
• Assisted terraforming: Large-scale climate and geological manipulation
• Defense systems: Energy shields and automated armaments

Having arcanotechnicians capable of throwing fireballs is interesting on a battlefield, but having a metallurgical industry enabling mass production at nearly zero cost is vital for the survival and dominance of the Empire.

This industrialization of arcanotechnology largely explains why the Empire has been able to sustain more than two centuries of total war against the Aceras without economic collapse.
