System Philosophy
Combat is built on two principles: simplicity of rolls and clarity of values. The player rolls only one die to attack; the target rolls nothing to defend. The fixed values for Defense and Resistances make the system fluid yet tactical.
The system’s priorities:
- Physical unification: a single physical reality, no “magical vs physical” distinction.
- Resistances based on attack nature: mechanical, radiative, or internal.
- Narrative coherence: the Flux creates real physical phenomena that follow the laws of physics.
- Clear and measurable defenses: RMEC, RRAD, RINT.
- Natural progression: through equipment, statistics, and Flux mastery.
- Reading fluidity: for the GM and the players.
Fundamental principle: It is not the source of the attack that determines the applicable resistance, but the physical nature of the effect produced. An arcanotechnological fireball deals radiative damage (RRAD), just like a conventional flame.
